Connect AI assistants to Recital via the Recital MCP server. Once connected, your assistant can read and search your Recital content, including any data sources you have connected through Recital Connect.

Before you start

Every Recital user can get their connection details from the Settings → MCP Server page in the Recital web app. You need:

• MCP Server URL: https://api.recitalapp.com/mcp
• Auth Token: tied to you as a Recital user, not to a specific assistant. The same token works for every assistant you connect. You can regenerate it at any time with the Regenerate Token button if it is lost, revoked, or compromised.

ChatGPT

Recital connects to ChatGPT using OAuth. ChatGPT custom connectors use OAuth sign-in only; bearer token auth is not supported.

1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings → Apps & Connectors.
2. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer Mode.
3. Click Create.
4. Enter the MCP Server URL above and complete the sign-in flow.

Claude.ai

Claude.ai connectors use OAuth sign-in only. Bearer token auth is not supported via the web interface. Use Claude Desktop or Claude Code to connect with an auth token.

1. Click your profile picture → Customize → Connectors.
2. Click + → Add custom connector.
3. Enter the MCP Server URL above and click Add.
4. Complete the sign-in flow to authorize Recital.
